Rory
McIlroy put in a little practise in Miami on his own while the worlds best
players were competing in the safe state further north!
McIlroy's
golf bag was adorned with his favourite team Manchester United's club badge, maybe he was in tune with the Red
Devils good run so far in chasing the
Premier League title and he
certainly got into the swing of things during this round.
He chose
to miss the Arnold Palmer Invitational
in Orlando which has caused a little confusion to tournament organisers;
Palmer said: 'I had a few brief conversations with Rory last year and thought he was going to play but obviously I was wrong.'
'What his
reasoning is I don’t know but I am not going to worry about it.'
Justin
Rose and Bill Haas share the lead at the halfway point at the Arnold Palmer
Invitational, with Tiger Woods - who has recently gone public over his
relationship with skier Lindsey Vonn - a further four shots back.
McIlroy,
however, is sticking to the schedule he believes will give him his best chance
of winning the Masters next month.
And if he
takes inspiration from serial title winners United, the chances are he's got
the Green Jacket in the bag...
