We are at the half way point of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in
Orlando and Justin Rose is still in pole position over Tiger Woods. The event
this year features 132 players yet all eyes for 33 holes were on this pair as
they demonstrated the quality of their play.
Having said that there were a few slip ups which gave a glimmer of hope
to the other players. Justin Rose slipped
up on the 18th with a
three putt bogey to take the shine of a
great round, a round of 70 saw him going from leader to disputing the position
with Bill Haas.
Woods pulled to within one shot with three to go until he too slipped up
with three unexpected bogeys which completely changed his round, a 70 meant
Rose kept the four shot lead over Tiger which was how the day began.
‘The finish seemed to get the better of both of us,’ admitted Rose. ‘Up to then it had been an exciting day but the rain came and it changed the atmosphere. But while the three-putt was jarring, I’ve got to be happy with my position going into the weekend.’
