Ladies European Tour rookie Swedish player Daniela Holmqvist, 24, was taking part in a pre-qualifier for the LPGA’s season-opening ISPS Handa Australian Open on Tuesday when she felt like she had been stabbed by a knife in the ankle!!
She had actually been bitten by a Black Widow Spider such bites can be extremely dangerous not to mention awfully painful so what does Daniela do? After alerting people for help she decides to take things in her own hands and grabs a golf tee out of her pocket opend the wound/bite and squeezes out the venom!
“It was not the best-looking thing I’ve done,” she said, according to the report, “but I had to get as much out of me as I could.”
She then continued to play! 14 holes trailed by a medic, despite managing to complete the round she failed to qualify!
After the round, she told Svensk Golf that she was a “little dizzy and a little tired,” and conceded that she probably should head to the hospital … except that she had a flight to catch.
Solgolf salutes a very brave Daniela !! She tweeted after:
Daniela Holmqvist
So I went to see a doctor.. On a
double dose of antibiotics and some other stuff 4 times per day. Also
the wound needed some attention. 💉💊
I asked the doctor if I could do a workout today... Her response "the death-stare".
