Fourteen
year old Guan Tianlang has enlisted the help of Sir Nick Faldo for guidance as this amazing
young Chinese golfer prepares to become
the youngest participant in Masters history.
The pair met last year when Guan won the Faldo Series
Asia Grand Final, featuring all the best teenagers from the region. Last
November, he completed a sensational wire-to-wire victory in the Asia Pacific
Amateur Championship – featuring players of all ages from 36 countries - which
earned him his coveted invitation to Augusta.
Three-time
Masters champion Faldo is only too happy to play the role of golfing patriarch.
‘I was impressed with the way he won the Faldo Series last year and we’ve
played a few holes together,’ he revealed. ‘I’ve spent a bit of time with him
on the range and given him support and advice for Augusta.’
