SHANSHAN FENG IS OMEGA'S NEWEST AMBASSADOR

DUBAI, Dec 3 -- Shanshan Feng has joined Omega's family of brand ambassadors that includes Greg Norman, Sergio Garcia and Michelle Wie. The first golfer from mainland China to win a major title when she captured the LPGA Championship in June earlier this year, Feng will make her brand ambassador debut on Wednesday at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.
"Top-five: that's my goal. Of course I'll try to play my best and focus on each shot," said Feng ahead of the euro 500,000 event, promoted and organised by golf in DUBAi.
"It's my second last tournament of the year and so I am not going to put myself under too much pressure," said 23-year-old Feng who hopes her victory on the US women's circuit, could provide enough stimulus to spark golf's popularity growth in China.
"Right now, I would say the image of golf in China is a bit negative because it's kind of all about expenses, like expensive and it's a game of rich people and using a lot of land, so we have to show them that it's worth it," said Feng, ranked sixth in the world.
Omega is proud that that this outstanding competitor whose smile lights up every course she plays on, has joined its family of golfing ambassadors. The brand looks forward to celebrating with Shanshan each time she adds to her already-impressive list of victories and achievements.
The sport of golf has become enormously popular in China and continues to enjoy extraordinary growth. Omega is thrilled that it will have the opportunity to celebrate each of her victory with her fans in her home country.
The brand has been present in China for more than a century and is the market leader in the prestige watch segment.
Shanshan's role as a brand ambassador will raise awareness of Omega even further, particularly among the millions of Chinese golf fans.
